Samsung has gone from being the company with the most repairable phones to the least repairable.
Apparently they read the same data Apple executives knew. Low repairability = more sales and nobody talks, not really.
Funny thing is, they laughed at the worst product Apple had offered in years and… ended up doing the same thing (nothing replaceable, designed to be nearly beyond repair). Good job Samsung, as long as people keep falling for the scam, good job!

For example S6 edge, S7 edge and S8 or S8 plus new screen cost around 200 here in my country Slovakia. Plus the price of the repair service.
Another example best flagship device of the year 2021 Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra costs 250 euros new original screen plus repair shop replacement price.
The difference is around 50 euros between the new flagship device from Xiaomi and the 5-7 year old flagship devices from Samsung.
so what? someone dares to repair their own broken smartphone? or should you not take a broken Samsung to the repair center because it is difficult to repair?
Disappointing repairability score. The iPhone 13 scored 6/10.

The more expensive the phone, the more expensive the repair. So even if this phone had the best possible repair “score”, it wouldn’t bring down the actual price. What reduces it is the time elapsed since the release date (even for phones with bad repair scores). So even if your argument has some logic, it just doesn’t work that way in real life. That’s why repair scores don’t matter to anyone without a home repair lab as a hobby (100 people worldwide, mabe?).

If the rear window breaks during replacement, they will need to provide a new one. Which means they will have to somehow cover that loss through higher service prices of the battery itself. Unlike the phone which is guaranteed not to be damaged again during the repair.
These scores are useless because they simply don’t matter. When your phone breaks down, just take it in for repair and you’re done. Hardly anyone has a home lab for phone repairs and if they do, it’s their hobby and they do it for fun. Or they record fixability videos like this that nobody cares about.
- I have a Galaxy S22
The main thing for Samsung is the environment and does not include a charger with the Galaxy series. The funny thing is that in the end they created a disposable device, with the death of the battery tossed in the trash and those trying to fix will have to replace some parts as a result of them breaking while trying to replace the battery. Another thing, Samsung provided the first buyers with a large cardboard box, which also pollutes…
“Thank you in the name of mother earth/nature for all the kind”
post Scriptum. Galaxy S22 series owners expected the most expensive battery replacement in the cellular industry. Labs will charge a premium for the possibility of secondary damage when replacing the battery. And not to mention the screen…
smartphone becomes very strong, unbreakable and resistant to dust and water, so repairability will be difficult.

iiSnewoNL, 10 hours agoKinda weird since PBKReviews says something else??Either could be a pay site, but judging by Samsung’s history of battery sticking and difficult screen replacement, as you usually have to replace the entire front panel (along with the battery ), not just the screen.
I agree with iFixIt.
Kinda weird since PBKReviews says something else??
they only mislead people because they lack skills and knowledge

Samsung’s talk of environmental sustainability sounds awfully hollow when it makes even battery replacement as difficult as possible.
bruh. costs that much removing the wall adapter but can’t spend the penny to at least put a battery tab in 2022? what joke.
