The Caring Cupboard, located on the north side of Walworth Methodist Church, is a ‘take what you need and give what you can’ food stand.
Cameron Jones, Scout who built it as part of his Eagle Project, wanted it to be low enough that people with disabilities could also reach objects.
A note to givers: Please do not donate “expired” foods or items that freeze and break. Make sure you close the doors tightly so they don’t open on their own. If the closet is full, leave items on the porch of the house south of the church, email [email protected] or drop them off Sunday morning.
Eagle Scout Cameron of Williamson Troop 90, is a member of Walworth Methodist Church. Cam organized the project and other scouts helped with the construction. Pastor Jacques Ruth blessed the cupboard and donated items during their March 28 service. Cameron thanked the Walworth community, especially her church family, her family, Marion Garage Door, Roof Advisors and CJ’s Property Maintenance and Jean Maynard, Scout Advisor and the 90 BSA Troop Scouts.
In addition to food products, hygiene products, paper products, laundry products and childcare articles are appreciated.
